Welcome to Leyton Sports Massage and Thank You for Visiting!
If you’ve never been to us before, you might want to know a little more about us.
Leyton Sports Massage was founded in 2010, in the Leyton Mills Shopping Centre (before the Westfield was even open – can you remember what it was like then!). I had one simple idea – provide quality sport & remedial massage therapy to the residents of East London, and help people understand how they can better take care of themselves.
Luckily, it turns out a lot of people really like walking out of a massage therapy session not only feeling better but also with a better picture of potential causes for their problems and an idea of how they can start preventing them from coming back.
Since then, we’ve grown to four experienced massage therapists, two low cost clinic therapists (a way to give newly-qualified therapists some experience and a more cost-effective option for people whose budgets may be a little more restricted), a reflexologist, and a second location in Walthamstow.
We are also honoured to have won local and national awards for the work we do – the Waltham Forest Small Business Professional Service Category, 2014, and the Federation of Holistic Therapists’ Excellence in Customer Service Award in 2015, and named in last year’s Waltham Forest’s Small Business 100.
After celebrating five years last August, we took a breath and thought about what we want our next five years to look like. As a result, we set a goal for ourselves for the next five years:
Help 2,000 People Live Pain Free by 2020
What does this mean exactly?
Well, it’s easy to get complacent as we get aches and pains as we get older, and start to restrict our activities or live with the discomfort. As therapists, we love seeing the change soft tissue work can make in people. We want to use sport & remedial massage therapy to help with those aches and pains as much as possible, and point people towards resources and habits that will mean those aches and pains don’t come back, wherever possible.
We are doing this in a number of ways – mainly, through our sport and remedial massage therapy sessions. We also have loads of free resources on our website, from how to foam roll to helping with neck pain. We are also developing other resources like guides for marathon training and online courses to help neck & shoulder pain, so we can help people further afield than East London.
Now, not all pain is caused by muscle tension, so we know we will have to send some people on to physios, or GP’s, osteos, or consultants. And some pain is caused by underlying medical conditions where we may be able to help with symptoms but can’t actually do anything for the underlying problem. But we know that we can help a lot of muscular symptoms ease and we have helped a lot of people with various complaints, so that’s where we’d like to keep going (for an idea of how we’ve been able to help people, check out our testimonials page).
To that end, our therapists will always ask you the goal for your sessions, and we’ll want to follow it through, even if that’s just a follow-up email a couple weeks after your appointment to see how you get on.
If this is your first visit, I highly recommend you visit our mini-tour on our ‘First Visit? Click Here‘ page. You can also read more about our therapists, or browse other news and articles. Or, if you’re ready to book, click here to be taken to our online booking and schedule.
Thanks again for stopping by, and if there’s any way in which we can help you or you’re having trouble finding what you’re looking for, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call us on 020 8185 7364.
