About Walthamstow Osteopathy

Now that we’re happily settled in our new home at Walthamstow, we thought you might like to know a little more about them. Osteopathy can be a great complement to sport and remedial massage therapy, and we have quite a few clients for whom we coordinate their care between osteopathy and sports/remedial massage.

Walthamstow Osteopathy and Natural Health Centre

Walthamstow Osteopathy and Natural Health Centre was set up in 1999 and moved to its current location in 2002. They have seen over 5000 patients from the local area and have had patients ranging in age from 3 days to 95 years.

About Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment which lays its main emphasis on the musculo-skeletal system (bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia) and the way in which this inter-relates with the body as a whole. Osteopaths diagnose and treat dysfunctions that occur because of injury, stress or disease. Instead of treating the symptoms, osteopaths aim to remove the mechanical and other problems that can hinder the body’s natural ability to repair itself.

About the Osteopaths – Iain and Stephen

Iain Chapman and Stephen Moore are graduates of the Andrew Still College of Osteopathy and Kingston University.

Both Iain and Stephen have undertaken postgraduate training in Cranial Osteopathy with the Sutherland Cranial College and are members of the Sutherland Society. They have also worked at the Osteopathic Centre for Children, Harley Street. They are both registered with the General Osteopathic Council and are members of BackCare, the national organisation for healthy backs. Iain and Stephen are also associate members of the Ergonomics Society.

If you would like to book an osteopath appointment with Iain or Stephen you can call their reception at 020 8521 7888.

Have you ever noticed that things in our body can build up?

In today’s post, I’ll explain the onion analogy, how we use it in our practice, and how you can use it in your day-to-day life.
