Welcome (or welcome back!)
Here are our post-lockdown safety protocols
It can feel overwhelming resuming ‘normal’ life following lockdown.
We want you to feel as safe possible when you visit us, so this page covers all the processes and procedures we have in place.
Feel free to watch the short (6-minute) video from our YouTube channel, skim the list below, and if you’d like to see what we’ve used to develop our guidelines we’ve linked to the government’s guidance for close contact businesses below.
Step 1: 24 Hours Before Your Session
The first thing we need to do is complete a screening the day before your session.
In your booking confirmation, you’ll find a link to a short form that asks all the questions we need to ask. If we don’t receive it the day before, we’ll need to call you/follow up.
And yes, this is for every session (until we’re told otherwise).
Step 2: When You Arrive
When you arrive, the door is likely to already be open (as we’ll be ventilating between clients), or if it isn’t, your therapist will open it.
You’ll remove your shoes and place them next to the door.
We’ll take your temperature (and confirm nothing’s changed from your screening questions).
We’ll ask you to wash your hands.
Step 3: During the Session
During the consultation and assessment, you’ll be distanced from the therapist.
Your clothes will go in a lidded box that the therapist will open for you.
While the therapist is close to you, they will wear a plastic visor (as per current close contact regulations).
Government regulations indicate that where the therapist is wearing a visor, there is no additional benefit to the client wearing a face covering.
That said, you’re more than welcome to wear one if you feel more comfortable.
Step 4: At the End of the Session
The end of session consultation will also be done at a distance.
We’ll be keeping very closely to times, so we have the full break between clients to ventilate the room, change the massage table, and disinfect all surfaces.
If you’d like to read the current government guidance regarding close contact services (like massage therapy), here’s the link to what we’re using for reference.
We are currently unable to see high risk clients as they are currently advised to shield.
However, we are still offering some video sessions, so if you’d like to book one please do let us know.
We’ll be checking it regularly and updating our processes as necessary.
If you have any questions at all regarding the above, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, either via our Contact Us page or sending us an email.
